How To Set Up A Direct Message Template
Setting up a Direct Message Template will help automate the initial interactions that a new lead has with your business when they come in via a Facebook Ad.
It will automatically greet them and guide them through a series of qualification questions, before they qualify or disqualify them, and send the appropriate messages for each scenario.
This guide will show you how to set this up.
Getting Started
- Navigate to your Ad settings, in your Ads Manager dashboard.
- Set the Call To Action to "Send Message" and click "Create".
- Click the "Welcome Message" dropdown.
- Add a welcome message. This is the first message the lead will receive when they interact with your direct message ad.
- Click the "Questions" dropdown.
- Add the first qualifying question and click the "insert personalization" button. Use the recipient's first name to personalize the message.
- Configure your questions, qualification, and disqualification options.
- Configure your "Completion" and "Disqualification" messages.
- Add the link to your privacy policy in the "Privacy Policy URL" field.
- In the "Advanced" tab, give your Direct Message Template a name, so that you can easily reference it later.
- Test that everything works correctly by clicking "Preview In Messenger". Make any necessary changes by revisiting the previous steps.
-
Click "Save and finish".
